Meli is an adorable Melanistic Bengal, Luna's first kitten! He was an only kitten and our very first here at MagikalMoments, so he has been extremely spoiled. As such, he absolutely loves people and plays with everyone! We are keeping Meli as our pet cat! This little Black Panther is one spoiled boy!
A Melanistic Bengal is uncommon; both parents need to carry the recessive gene. You can Google Melanistic Bengals to see what some adults look like and Little Leopard Cats has some information on their genetics and health benefits. Meli has some pretty big rosettes, but getting a photo has been near impossible.
Meli does have a locket on his tummy between his rear legs (a white patch), which is considered a "fault" in the TICA standards. But he is such an adorable little love bug! Mr. Meli is going to be our adorable pet cat! He has stolen our hearts (well...except when he nips my shoulder to wake me up at 6am on weekends or sits on my bladder at 5:30 on work days).
